Alibaba Cloud's ACK MCP Server (ack-mcp-server) is a toolset designed to consolidate container operations capabilities for AI-native use cases. It integrates Alibaba Cloud Container Service for Kubernetes (ACK) cluster management, native Kubernetes operations, and container-scenario observability, security auditing, and diagnostic functionalities into a standardized toolset accessible to AI assistants. Utilizing the Model Context Protocol (MCP), it allows AI agents like Alibaba Cloud's intelligent assistant, or third-party agents such as kubectl-ai, Qwen Code, and Claude Code, to perform complex container operational tasks through natural language commands. The server provides core functionalities including ACK cluster and resource management (listing clusters, node resource management), Kubernetes native operations (executing kubectl commands, fetching logs and events, resource CRUD), and AI-native container observability. The observability features include querying Alibaba Cloud Prometheus and self-built Prometheus metrics (with natural language to PromQL conversion), querying ACK control plane logs (with natural language to SLS-SQL conversion), and audit log tracking. It also offers ACK diagnostic and inspection capabilities. The architecture emphasizes an AI-native approach, providing a unified toolset, incorporating best practices for ACK, Kubernetes, and container observability, and offering enterprise-grade features like layered architecture, dynamic credential injection, robust error handling, and modular design for extensibility. It aims to empower users to build their own container-centric AIOps systems.
